Its executive chairman Datuk Md Yusof Samsudin said the increased
turnover this year was because of the higher number of cooperatives
registered.
"So far, 954 new cooperatives have been registered bringing the total
number of cooperatives in the country to 10,005 which exceeds our target
for next year," he told reporters after opening Pusat Rawatan Mahsuri
(PRM), which is wholly-owned by Koperasi Guru-guru Melayu Kedah Berhad
(KGMKB), near here Thursday.
He said although most of the cooperatives were engage in small business, their large presence contributed to the high turnover.
