There are currently four KR1M stores in both states located at Padawan and Kuching in Sarawak and Tuaran and Inanam in Sabah.
The allocation will enable more stores to be opened in these states for the convenience of the people.
“This
is the government’s commitment to ensure the rakyat, including those in
Sabah and Sarawak will be able to enjoy essential items at reasonable
prices.
“We will also be opening 57 more stores in Sabah and
Sarawak in 2013 to ensure this facility can be enjoyed by more people,”
he said.
The Minister shared that the new stores in the two
states will be managed by entrepreneurs and co-operatives to encourage
more public participation in the initiative.
