KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Council of Former
Elected Representatives (Mubarak) plans to enter into partnership with
local finance companies to enable the 800 members of its cooperatives to
venture into the finance sector.

There are six Mubarak cooperatives nationwide -- in the Federal Territory, Sabah, Perak, Terengganu, Melaka and Kedah.
Mubarak president Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman said a partnership
proposal with Bank Rakyat, which has an efficient Ar-Rahnu islamic
pawn-broking service, will be looked into soon.
"We want those who have been in the cooperative for a long time to
venture into Ar-Rahnu, we are also enhancing our traditional activities
such as printing," he told reporters after the Federal Territory
Mubarak Cooperative annual general meeting here Saturday.
He said the cooperative plans to venture into the property sector in the Federal Territory.
