He said this was the consensus based on research undertaken to gauge
the effectiveness of the Micro Credit programme in strengthening small
entrepreneurs among countries in the region.
"The decision was also one of three key resolutions adopted at the
two-day Regional A-Rahnu Secretariat Conference 2012 which ended here
Sunday.
"Under this resolution, conference members were urged to continue
taking proactive steps towards an entrepreneurial culture by emphasising
the Small Entrepreneurs Development Programme.
"The resolution will also introduce the Regional Entrepreneurial
Personality Award by latest 2014, as a proactive and innovative step, as
well as to encourage efforts to produce successful small entrepreneurs
in this region," he added.
