KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia
Berhad (Angkasa), which has about 8,000 cooperatives nationwide,
entered the food industry with the launch of its Angkasa Food brand
Thursday.

Among the products were 'nasi lemak 'Pak Nasir', 'satay', 'roti jala'
and a variety of seasonings which would also be exported to Saudi
Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Iran next month.
Angkasa president, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Ali Baharum, launched the brand
and signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with two chicken and meat
suppliers, Juara Rasa Maju Sdn Bhd and Sidratul Muntaha Abjad Sdn Bhd.
"Angkasa also aims to market raw chicken and meat, and meat based
products such as burgers and nuggets for local and overseas markets," he
told reporters after he opened the company's centralised food
distribution centre here.
Mohd Ali also signed MoUs with the Putrajaya and Cyberjaya Transport
Cooperative to manage the brand's transport needs and the Alor Gajah
District Development Cooperative, which will be the first cooperative to
market Angkasa Foods.
