SUNGAI PETANI, March 14 (Bernama) -- Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) is
relaxing its loan repayment terms to members in East Sabah affected by
the terrorist intrusion in Lahad Datu, Sabah.

Its director, Datuk Zabidah Ismail said the postponement of repayment
commencing from the start of the incident would be extended until next
week involving 10 branches and collection amounting to about RM1 million
a month.
She said AIM had 22 branches in Sabah with 52,000 members and 21,000 of whom were located in the East Sabah areas.
"Since the incident erupted, the management of AIM has decided to
postpone loan repayment which is paid weekly while AIM employees there
were given leave until the situation improves," she said at a media
conference after opening a Halal Development seminar at Hotel Amanpura,
here Thursday.
Present at the ceremony were Malaysian Islamic Development Department
(Jakim) halal hub division director Hakimah Mohd Yusoff and Kedah Mara
deputy director (Development), Siti Aminah Yahya.
