LAHAD DATU, March 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Network of Small and
Medium Enterprises (SME) or Ikhlas suggests that the Sabah government
provides incentive or special aid to petty traders in the district whose
business have been affected by the intrusion of the Sulu militants.

Its president, Mohd Ridzuan Abdullah, said a study conducted by Ikhlas
found that majority of them suffered losses as they were forced to close
business for several days, especially after the shooting incident at
Kampung Tanduo on March 1.
"Almost 100 per cent of their business are affected. Some of them suffer
losses because their goods are damaged, like those selling salted fish,
who are the worst affected," he told reporters after visiting traders
at the Pasar Rakyat here Friday.
He also urged the National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (Tekun
Nasional) and the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) to meet the traders to
explain the various facilities available for them.
