TEMERLOH, March 25 (Bernama) -- Petty traders and hawkers who have never
applied for loans from banks or financial institutions will be given
priority under the Micro-credit Financing Scheme (MFS), said Domestic
Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri

He said the government had allocated RM150 million to be disbursed under the scheme.
"Last year RM50 million was allocated and this year RM100 million more was approved.
"As such, the 1.5 million hawkers and petty traders registered with the
Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) can apply. Priority will be given
to applicants who have never applied for loans before," he told
reporters here Monday.
Ismail Sabri added that 17,871 applications for financing under the
scheme had been received thus far involving 13,484 hawkers and 4,395
petty traders.
