Unisys inks renewal contract with Angkasa

Unisys Corporation's Malaysian subsidiary has signed a renewal contract with Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (Angkasa) to provide software services for the latter's core payroll system.

Under the five-year contract, Unisys will provide Angkasa with a range of its ClearPath software, technical consulting and application development consultancy.

"The services allow cooperatives and other credit institutions to streamline payment collections in a systematic and secure manner," Unisys said in a statement today.

With membership comprising more than 50,000 cooperatives, Angkasa, the apex body of the Malaysian cooperative movement, provides training, education and entrepreneurial coaching, and offers administrative support services to its members.

Among other services, Angkasa acts as a payment gateway between the employer of its cooperative members and credit institutions to provide automated payment of monthly subscriptions, loan installments, insurance premiums and other dues via payroll deductions. - Bernama, July 10, 2013.
