TEMERLOH, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia
Berhad (Angkasa) has set aside RM50 million to build 50 haemodialysis
centres throughout the country in the next five years.

Angkasa Deputy President Datuk Abdul Fattah Abdullah said the 50
haemodialysis centres would be build with the cooperation of
cooperatives at the respective areas to ensure diabetic patients
received treatment and services at an affordable cost.
"The cost allocated for building each centre in RM1 million and thus
far, Angkasa on its own has already build two haemodialysis centres in
Temerloh, Pahang and Bayan Baru, Penang," he told reporters after
visiting Angkasa's haemodialysis centre in Temerloh, here, Thursday.
Abdul Fattah said the haemodialysis centre in Temerloh started
operations on Dec 10 while work on the construction of the Bayan Baru
centre was in the final stages of completion.
"Three nurses and an assistant are operating the six machines in
operation at the centre. Thus far, 16 patients are receiving treatment
at the centre," he said.
